Unlike a traditional wooden stretcher that requires small wedges or “keys” for expansion, our mechanical stretcher utilizes special Tite-Joint™ fasteners to expand each joint independently with millimeter precision. The hardware is embedded into our bars at every joint connection and with a simple turn of the mechanism, you can expand the joint to tighten a slack canvas. No more time wasted looking for those wedges or cautiously hammering them into the corners. Additionally, on either side of the fastener we sink two dowel pins that secure alignment and keep this joint extremely strong. Stretchers come fully assembled and/or stretched.
